Villefranche-
de- Rougerie
Villefranche is the closest large town (15-20 minutes) and as such has full
facilities. Shopping is excellent with 3 hypermarkets, lots of boutiques &
specialist shops in the town center and a full range of services. There are a
number of restaurants with reasonable prices. ( For something a bit more up
market try 'L'Epicurien"; its on the left about 50 yards after you cross the
main bridge.)
Do go to the Thursday market! It's very good; even if you're not buying check
out the fish monger - he's awe inspiring.

Caussade
Very nice
small town famous for hat making. The market on Monday is good as is the Monday
truffle market in season. The town has a good leisure center if you French is up
to it. ( Coming from Mandavy/Caylus direction turn RIGHT at the first
roundabout, at the next roundabout which is about 100 yards turn LEFT. Leisure
center entrance is on the RIGHT as you leave the roundabout.)

Septfonds
No link
or anything, but a restaurant tip. If you get the chance go to the St. Mamet
restaurant in Septfonds. It's not fancy or haut cuisine or expensive, but its
nice and the food is good. Its the sort of place that's hard to find if you
don't already know about it. To find it do the following. As you come into
Septfonds from the Caylus direction & look for the signs for the Marie & Post
Office on the left. Turn left there & follow the road down a slight hill. St.
Mamet is on the left just before a bridge. DON'T be put off by the unassuming
exterior appearance. The dining room & the courtyard are very well done.

St-Antonin-Noble-Val
Nestled
in the gorge of the Aveyron river St Antonin is truly beautiful. A real medieval
town dating back to at least 900AD. It has a large Sunday market ( lots of
tourists, but also lots to buy) and a small supermarket. There is also a cinema
which shows quite a number of English language films; the films are up to date.
Across the river is a place to rent canoes & kayaks for boating on the Aveyron.
A very nice place.
